Ritestart, a prequalified contractor with the Waterloo Region District School Board, was awarded King Edwards Interior and Exterior Alterations through competitive tender process. The project consisted of major interior renovations over 3 floors and 4,300SF of floor area as well as exterior improvements for barrier free access. Detailed scope of work for the Interior & Exterior Alterations at King Edward Public School was comprised of the following:

• Construction of a new exterior cast-in-place concrete ramp to provide barrier free access to main entrance including stainless steel handrail, regrading, and landscaping and asphalt restorations
• Replacement of the existing entrance and vestibule doors at the main entrance of the school with new aluminum automatic entrance doors and curtain wall system designed to meet barrier free requirements.
• Removal of multiple existing exterior hollow metal doors and frames and replacement with new
• Renovations to the existing library/learning commons, including new finishes (complete flooring, walls, ceilings, paint and millwork), plumbing and HVAC and lighting/ electrical upgrades;
• Renovations to an existing classroom on the lower level to create a new Staff Room, including new washrooms, kitchenette, finishes (complete flooring, walls, ceilings, paint and millwork, washroom accessories), plumbing and HVAC and lighting/ electrical upgrades;
• Renovations to convert the existing Staff Room to a new classroom, including new finishes (complete flooring, walls, ceilings, paint and millwork), HVAC and lighting / electrical upgrades.
