Ritestart Limited played a pivotal role in the Trent University Oshawa Campus Renovations Project, transforming it into a modern, functional learning and educational hub. This 5-story building, strategically situated in downtown Oshawa and previously utilized by another institution, underwent comprehensive renovations tailored to meet Trent’s specific requirements. The project faced a tight timeline due to the imminent arrival of hundreds of international students for the fall term, with a scheduled completion set for late summer 2023.
The scope of the project encompassed significant demolition work across multiple floors, clearing the way for the installation of new drywall partitions, flooring, painting, specialty ceilings, and essential mechanical and electrical equipment. Notably, the basement was revamped to accommodate new classrooms, complete with operable partitions and whiteboards. On the first floor, a cutting-edge learning commons space emerged, featuring custom millwork, eye-catching feature siding, moss walls, unique ceiling baffles, and all necessary services to cater to students’ needs.
The project’s exterior underwent a remarkable transformation as well. A new outdoor/indoor space was established for student use, carefully crafted with structural steel, specialty rubber flooring, wood slat siding, and inviting benches. Additionally, new vestibule doors and façade adjustments enhanced the building’s overall aesthetic.
Ritestart’s exceptional efficiency and precision were critical in facilitating Trent University’s occupancy while minimizing disruptions to school operations. The Ritestart team ensured the project’s timely completion, allowing Trent University to welcome international students and embrace their academic journey in this thoughtfully designed learning environment.
